Are you currently a doctoral student or Interested in starting a doctoral program? Join me for a weekly peer support group for Ph.D. students and future graduate students! Earning a Ph.D. is so much more than completing coursework and writing a dissertation—it’s a journey of transformation, resilience, and self-discovery. Whether you’re just thinking about starting a doctoral program or you’re deep in the process, I created Becoming Dr. You to offer a supportive space where we can connect, reflect, and grow together. During these sessions, you'll get to ask any questions you have about the Ph.D. path: the process of completing coursework, conducting research, critical thinking and reading skills, choosing a gap in the research to study for your dissertation or capstone project, finding support and resources you need to be successful and calm your anxieties. We all need support facing the challenges of earning a doctorate and embracing the self-growth process, so find your community and be encouraged each step of the way! In these weekly sessions, I invite you to: 💬 Share openly about your experiences—without judgment 🧘‍♀️ Explore tools for self-care, stress relief, and focus 📚 Celebrate your progress (even the little wins!) 🎯 Reconnect with your purpose and passions 🤝 Find comfort in community—you’re not alone in this journey About me: I enrolled in grad school in 2019 to earn my Ph.D. in Psychology, and now I'm at the final stage of my doctoral journey (defending my dissertation in April) and graduating in June 2025! Over the last 5+ years, I've learned so many valuable lessons and navigated challenges that felt overwhelming in the moment. I’ve experienced imposter syndrome, perfectionism, and the pressure of balancing academic demands with work and family life. To get through it, I've leaned into self-care, found tools to calm my anxiety, and learned to have grace with myself. I continually remind myself to let go of the need to be perfect. I've found joy in the growth process, stayed consistent with my goals, and built confidence in my own strengths and skillsets. I've also had the privilege of tutoring other graduate students in statistics—a subject that often brings a lot of anxiety. As a tutor, I loved helping others realize they were more capable than they believed. The desire to empower and encourage my peers is the same energy I'll bring into this group! No matter where you are in your doctoral path, you are welcome here. Come as you are, and let’s support each other as we become Dr. You together!
