Kimmi

Hello All! I am happy to be on this platform. I was ready to give up on finding a safe place to talk about Adult ADD / ADHD and comorbidites. I use Heypeers as well but not for a long time. I was focusing on my Bipolar and Depression for many years, and gave up reading about and researching ADHD. However, in the past two years I recognized that I may not have bipolar and will discuss that with my clinician. However, I know for sure I have anxiety and bouts of depression, some of which lasted for months at a time. I would become a hermit and lay around all day, and my surroundings would become a horrific mess. I would eat a lot of junk food, gain a lot of weight, spend impulsivly, get into debt, and I would abuse various substances to self-medicate. I am now 55 years old and have been making positive changes in my life for the past few years. I WOULD GREATLY APPRECIATE IT IF ANYONE IN THIS COMMUNITY IS INTERESTED IN THIS TOPIC IF YOU HAVE ADHD, SUSPECT YOU MAY HAVE IT, ARE A SPOUSE OR PARENT OF SOMEONE W/ADHD. – @Kimmi

What I Hope to Share

I hope to inform people that ADHD usually has co-morbid issues such as anxiety, depression, bipolar disorder, emotional dysregulation among other things. The by-products of ADHD can lead to mood swings, impulsivity, lashing out, emotional dysregualtion, problems with relationships at home, work, and in various social situations.

What Brought Me to ShareWell

I was inspired when I found ShareWell that you could take host training for free and have groups with issues you are struggling with. I cannot afford ADHD coaching, individual or group, and it still causes me challenges as an adult. I would like to share my experience with others who may be interested: Adults with ADHD, Spouses or Partners with ADHD and parenting children of ADHD.
