For the past 5 years, I have been the sole caregiver for my mother (immobile, several chronic issues, including endometrial cancer) and my father (prostate cancer and stage 4 lung cancer). When my father passed on, I found myself in complete burnout, complicated by insomnia, exhaustion, grief, and overall life confusion. As I work through my own chronic health condition and newly recognized neurodiversity, I am motivated to create a guide for caregivers, pivot the direction of my accounting firm, and find joy in the world wherever I can (which is everywhere).
I originally joined Sharewell in February 2025 (this is a new account), looking for a new caregiving community. What I ultimately found was support for grief, self-care, HSP, and an amazing social circle of caring individuals who 'get it' in almost every way possible. After a brief break, I'm back with the hopes of getting back on track with motivation (body-doubling), continuing my journey of exploring my creative side, and ongoing learning on how to love and take care of myself.
I have some really great ideas for hosting sessions, but I am going to take things slow and make sure that my mask is fully secured before I start trying to help others with theirs.
