I joined the ShareWell peer support community to share the insight, hope, and practical tools I’ve gained throughout my own mental health journey. Diagnosed with bipolar disorder in 1988, I spent years on total disability before making major life changes to rebuild my path and dedicate myself to helping others do the same. My work in peer support began as a volunteer at the BestSelf Recovery Center, where I facilitated group sessions focused on daily affirmations, anger management, music therapy, and materials from The Tools Book. That foundation led to my current full-time role as a Peer Support Specialist with Recovery Options Made Easy. After initially working in their respite facility guiding clients as they got their lives back on track, I was offered a full-time position on their warmline. Supporting individuals through shared lived experience remains an incredibly rewarding journey, and I look forward to connecting with and supporting members here on ShareWell.
What I Hope to Share
I’m here to inspire hope in others and help them discover what they’re truly capable of achieving. By learning and growing alongside this community, I know every interaction will deepen my self-awareness, strengthening both my personal character and my work as a peer specialist.
What Brought Me to ShareWell
I joined this community to broaden my perspective and support others who have faced painful, overwhelming seasons in life. Life often hands us challenges we didn't ask for, but through shared experiences, we can learn from one another and find a path forward.
