Trained peer facilitators lead this group for any birthing person who has experienced trauma (mental and/or physical) during childbirth. Did you feel unsupported during childbirth? Did you feel unheard or felt a loss of control? Have you been grieving your birth experience? You deserve support. Birth trauma is based on your perception of the experience; no formal diagnosis is needed to join this group. Some common symptoms, but not all, that can occur after birth trauma are upsetting memories, avoiding talking about the event, and having negative thoughts/feelings about the event. You can be at any point post-delivery, from 1-week to many years. This group is specifically focused on birth trauma and connecting with others, so you can know that you are not alone and are not to blame. While your story has so much value, in this space, we will not explore birth story details as they could be triggering to others. We encourage you to contact a licensed healthcare provider (https://www.postpartum.net/get-help/provider-directory/) to process your birth story. In this group, we will discuss the effects of trauma, our emotions, and coping skills. We do not allow group observation by students or professionals. Thank you for your cooperation and understanding. This group is not for partners or non-birthing parents. For those who experienced a pregnancy or infant loss please join one of our loss groups (https://www.postpartum.net/get-help/psi-online-support-meetings/#toggle-id-24) for support. The group space will be closed once we reach 16 members OR we have started talk time. ** 🔔 PLEASE NOTE: THIS GROUP IS FIRST COME, FIRST SERVE. We allow the first 16 members to join. Thank you for understanding! ✅Cameras are required during introductions for the safety of all group members. Please make sure your technology allows you to turn on your camera at least briefly for this portion of the session. ✅The session will take place via Zoom (from the ShareWell website), so make sure your device is compatible with the Zoom app. This may require updating or downloading the Zoom app. Note: This group is not for people processing the details and trauma of pregnancy and/or infant loss. Please join one of our Loss and Grief Support Groups for this important support.

What to Expect
90-Minute Groups
Our groups are 90 minutes (1.5 hours) in length. The first ~30 minutes is spent providing information, education, and establishing group guidelines. The next ~60 minutes is “talk time,” in which group members share and talk with each other.
Safe & Confidential
Student and clinical observations are not allowed in our group spaces due to confidentiality and creating a safe space. Group members must be present for the group guidelines before joining the discussion.
Trained Peer Facilitators
PSI groups are led by trained peer facilitators who have completed comprehensive training and understand your experience. These facilitators guide discussions and create safe, supportive environments for Help Seekers to share and connect with others on similar journeys.
No Waitlists
We allow up to 16 group members to enter each group, so please arrive on time to get a spot. Once we reach 16 members OR we have started talk time, the group space will be closed.

Frequently Asked Questions
What's the difference between PSI and ShareWell?
Postpartum Support International (PSI) is a nonprofit organization dedicated to helping families suffering from perinatal mental health issues. ShareWell is the technology platform that hosts PSI's online support groups. When you join a PSI group on ShareWell, you're accessing PSI's expert-designed programming through our secure, user-friendly platform.
Who leads PSI support groups?
PSI support groups are facilitated by trained peer supporters who have lived experience with perinatal mental health challenges. These facilitators complete PSI's comprehensive training program and understand what Help Seekers are going through because they've been there themselves.
Are PSI groups really always free?
Yes, absolutely! All PSI support groups on ShareWell are 100% free forever. There are no hidden fees, no credit cards required, and no paywalls. PSI believes that Help Seekers should have access to support regardless of their financial situation.
Do I need special software to join groups?
All PSI groups are held via Zoom, which you can access directly through your web browser or by downloading the free Zoom app. You'll need a device with a camera and microphone, as cameras are required during introductions for the safety and comfort of all group members.
What else is available on ShareWell?
Beyond PSI groups, ShareWell offers support groups for many other topics including anxiety, depression, ADHD, trauma recovery, and more. Help Seekers can explore all available groups once they create their free ShareWell account, giving them access to a broader community of peer support.
What does PSI mean by "Help Seekers"?
"Help Seekers" is PSI's term for anyone looking for support with perinatal mental health challenges. This includes pregnant people, new parents, partners, and family members who are seeking help, resources, or community during the perinatal period.
How many people can join each group?
Each PSI group accommodates up to 16 Help Seekers. Groups fill on a first-come, first-served basis, so we recommend arriving on time. Once we reach capacity OR talk time begins, the group will be closed to new participants for that session.
How is my privacy protected?
PSI groups maintain strict confidentiality guidelines. What's shared in the group stays in the group. No student or clinical observations are allowed, and all participants agree to group guidelines before joining the discussion portion of each session.
