Questions? We've Got Answers

Here are the questions people ask most often before joining their first group

What if I don't want to speak in the group?

That's completely okay! Many members start by just listening, and some prefer to stay listeners long-term. You can participate through chat, use reactions, or simply absorb the conversation. There's no pressure to share until you're ready.

Is my information really private and secure?

Yes. Groups use first names only, and you control what personal information you share. Your data is never sold to third parties.

What's the time commitment for groups?

Groups typically last 30-90 minutes and meet weekly. You may register for any group with open spots available prior to the group’s start time.

Are the group hosts qualified to help with mental health?

Our hosts aren't therapists—they're trained community members with lived experience in their topic areas. They complete our specialized training program focused on peer support facilitation, active listening, and creating safe spaces. They're skilled at guiding conversations and connecting members, not providing clinical treatment.

How is this different from therapy or counseling?

Peer support complements therapy beautifully but serves a different purpose. Therapy involves licensed professionals providing clinical treatment. Peer support connects you with people who've had similar experiences, offering understanding, shared wisdom, and community. Many members do both—they enhance each other.
