(She/her)

Aloha! I am a Japanese-Latino living in Hawaii. I have a son with autism, ADHD and probably schizophrenia too. I am recovering from cancer but surrounded by people with mental health issues, so I need a safe space where I can be myself. I really want to learn more about how to connect with those who are disconnected mentally and in order to do so, I need to care for myself and this is why I joined Sharewell. Thank you for this blessed opportunity.

What I Hope to Share

In Hawaii, because of great diversity in cultures we learn to be understanding of each other and to live peacefully in a very small island everyone, all together. That's a social skill that we learn naturally just by living, working and interacting with people long enough here. My challenge now is how to "Celebrate" Diversity. How to be proud of who I am, who I have become. How to manage problem solving skills in a way that is good for everyone. I have brought out a lot of courage to be where I am today, and no one recognizes me. Instead I got put down. It requires a lot of inner strength to continue to be loving and understanding and heal resentment. If my story helps, I will share with anyone who would like to know about straggles-faith-work-success-repeat.

What Brought Me to ShareWell

ShareWell is an amazing idea! very well organized by topics, small groups, where people participate, share opinions, information, motivate each other, I am so glad I found this community. Just knowing that this site exists is a release of stress, just to know that whenever I need a safe space, I can go to my pc and join a group, that's all. It gives me a lot of hope to keep moving forward in a very positive way
