Most of us weren’t taught to hate our bodies by accident. Anti-fat bias, diet culture, and respectability politics are baked into how we’re socialized, praised, punished, and policed. Over time, those messages become internalized, shaping how we see ourselves and what we believe we’re allowed to want.
This group is a space to unlearn all of that. All body shapes, sizes, and experiences are welcome ✅
This is not a weight-loss space. It’s a body liberation space focused on compassion, education, and rebuilding trust with your body.
Led by Vinny Welsby (they/them), a world-leading expert in dismantling diet culture and anti-fat bias, this group blends education, reflection, and community conversation. The goal is not perfection or positivity, but freedom: the freedom to exist in your body without shame.

Vinny Welsby (they/them) is a world-leading expert on dismantling anti-fat bias and diet culture, a TEDx speaker, best-selling author, podcast host, and fat liberationist. They are the founder of Fierce Fatty and Weight Inclusive Consulting, where they support individuals and organizations in unlearning weight stigma and embracing body acceptance.
Vinny’s work is grounded in lived experience. They moved from homelessness, abuse, and deeply internalized shame into becoming a courageous educator and change maker dedicated to shifting how society views fat, queer bodies. Their approach centers education, kindness, and joy, without minimizing the realities of systemic oppression.
They have been featured on BBC’s “Who Are You Calling Fat?”, and their work supports both individuals and companies in creating more inclusive, body-respectful environments.
