Jonah Salander
I’m a writer and storyteller, and I’ve always been curious about people and the stories they carry with them. I love film, books, good conversations, dark humor, and my dog. I probably ask too many questions; I tend to overthink almost everything, and I care a lot about being honest even when the answer is complicated. I’m still figuring plenty of things out myself, which is probably part of why peer support feels so meaningful to me.
What I Hope to Share
I hope to contribute honesty, empathy, curiosity, and the ability to really listen. I’ve been learning more about boundaries, de-escalation, and how important it is to let people lead their own experience instead of trying to fix things for them. I also hope to gain more experience facilitating groups, learn from other peers, and keep getting better at creating a space where people feel comfortable being honest. I don’t expect to have all the answers. I want to keep learning how to show up well for people.
What Brought Me to ShareWell
I came to ShareWell because I know what it feels like to need a place where you can just be honest without feeling judged or like somebody is trying to fix you. I’ve had times in my life when being able to talk to someone who understood or was simply willing to listen mattered a lot. I wanted to learn how to create that kind of space for other people too. I also like that peer support isn’t about pretending you have everything figured out. I’m still learning myself, and ShareWell felt like a place where I could use what I’ve lived through in a way that could help someone else.
