Moving forward- Goals & Challenges

Tue, Aug 18 | 4:30PM - 5:30PM UTC
Each of us has our own unique experience. How can we move forward with the process - By sharing the ways that have helped or contributed to our success, we are a resilient part of our community. This group has individuals that have been addressing these issue of their childhood/past in order to make a conscientious effort to Move Forward. While there is no requirement to share in this group, it has been noted that it helps everyone. We know the psychological tactics narcissists use to manipulate and control others. In this session, we explore the subtle yet powerful ways that social influence, deceptive recruitment techniques, and psychological conditioning can ensnare even the most rational minds, gradually eroding personal autonomy and critical thinking. Through a blend of personal narratives, psychological insights, and practical strategies, participants will learn how to recognize, resist, and recover from these manipulative dynamics. Designed for anyone seeking to better understand the mechanisms of mind control in social and relational contexts, this session also provides valuable peer support for those with loved ones involved in controlling groups, as well as for individuals who simply want to strengthen their own resilience against manipulation. Drawing on the experiences shared by group participants, session participants can share practical tools and a deeper understanding of how to navigate the complex intersection of influence, belief, and personal autonomy in today's world.

Topic context

Understanding moving forward

When a plan unravels, it’s tempting to replay mistakes on loop or declare you’re “behind.” That defeatist narrative traps you in regret instead of action. Peer support encourages reframing setbacks as data—examining what worked, what didn’t, and adjusting your next move. Swapping strategies for rapid iteration and accountability helps you treat progress as a series of micro-advances rather than an all-or-nothing sprint.

Why it helps

How peer support helps with moving forward
