Grief includes both the emotional pain of loss and also the suffering of trying to get back on our feet.  In our own personal voyages there is a lot of advice out there.  Some of it softens the pain but some of it also really cuts.   My goal has never been to "get over it" but rather to learn to "carry it."  The sessions will start with a sign in naming ourself and our lost loved one, reviewing the simple ground rules for participating, sharing some of our story, sharing reactions so some of the advice that is offered to us, and closing wit sharing one small thing that our lost loved one could always do to leave us with a smile.

About the Host:
My educational background is psychology and addictions counseling. I've been in therapy on and off since I was 8 years old. I also got a large number of resources together for my daughters therapy as he has severe mental health challenges. I currently run a charity in Toronto Canada that supports low income families primarily those in disabilities and mental health challenges.

Hi Everybody. As trauma survivors, most of us know, only too well, how hard it can be to cope with loneliness: our battles with grief, self-isolation & moodiness can drain our energy & challenge our quality of life. Truth is, too much ‘time alone’ can cause even the strongest people to sink into despair. Why struggle by yourself, when here at Sharewell, you can enjoy the caring connections & support that you deserve? In these sessions, I’ll read a thoughtful quote & we’ll each have a chance to share whatever challenges come up.  If there’s enough time, we can also explore ways to relax more, versus ‘tense up’ or ‘run away’ from difficult feelings like loneliness. Hopefully, a 5pm (West Coast) time slot will allow people in other time zones to join us. Looking forward to seeing you there!

Alix’s work is about more than providing comfort at the end of life; it's about enriching every moment leading up to it. Through her role as a Death Doula and End-of-Life Guide, she supports individuals and families in facing dying with compassion, sacredness, and practical wisdom. She is passionate about bringing reverence back to death and helping people contemplate their final chapter long before the last page is near.

Gathered & Graced: A Faith-Based Support Circle for Infertility & Pregnancy Loss

Have you ever felt the weight of the wait?  Waiting for answers, waiting for healing, waiting for the blessing you’ve prayed for? How has that waiting season impacted your faith in God?

I know through experience how the journey through infertility and pregnancy loss can be heavy, isolating, and filled with questions that words can’t always explain. Gathered & Graced was created as a safe, Christ-centered peer support circle for women who are navigating these places.

Here, we gather in honesty and grace — lifting one another up in prayer, sharing our stories without judgment, and leaning on God’s Word for comfort and strength. We believe that even in seasons of loss, longing, and uncertainty, God’s promises remain steadfast.

“The Lord is close to the brokenhearted and saves those who are crushed in spirit.” (Psalm 34:18)
