Chronic Disease and Chronic Condition Support Community
Live groups available daily.
Neuropathy can make something as light as a bedsheet painful, and it is often at its worst at night. ShareWell has free online support groups for people living with long-term illness and pain, where others know what nerve pain does to sleep and mood.
Understanding neuropathy
Peripheral neuropathy covers the many conditions that involve damage to the nerves outside the brain and spinal cord. It often starts with numbness or tingling in the toes or fingers and can cause burning or shooting pain that is worse at night, and for some people the cause is never found.
How peer support helps with neuropathy
Peer support can help with neuropathy because nerve pain is invisible, and low mood and anxiety often follow it. Talking with people who live with pain makes it easier to carry.
What neuropathy groups often cover
- Burning, tingling or numb feet and hands
- Pain that keeps you awake
- Not knowing what caused it
- Weakness and trouble walking
ShareWell groups are peer support and do not give medical advice, so please keep working with your care team on anything about diagnosis or treatment. If you are in crisis, call or text 988 to reach the Suicide & Crisis Lifeline.

- People living with peripheral neuropathy from any cause
- People with neuropathy after chemotherapy or with diabetes
